The rehabilitation scheme aims at optimizing the site’s land usage. The existing site is currently a commercial street, serving commercial and business activities; the new development plan adds residential, and cultural functions to it, turning the site into a mixed-use area. In an attempt to visually please pedestrians as they stroll along on the sidewalk, the planned new buildings are arranged in a way that it has
a dynamic ‘flow’. An added feature to the existing site is a Culture and Arts center with a submerged Culture and Arts public square. The submerged square will provide an outdoor space for street artists to perform and entertain passers-by, and ultimately breathe a new atmosphere to the commercial street. The Culture and Arts Center will house various cultural activities such as Arts & Culture Exhibitions, theatrical plays, etc. At the southern intersection, a new 30-storey business tower will serve business activities.
